AmpliTest KHV (Real Time PCR)
DV01-100
KHV belongs to the family of Herpesviridae viruses. This dsDNA-type virus is the fish pathogene. KHV nucleotide sequence is highly similar to CyHV-1 (Cyprinid herpesvirus 1) and CyHV-2 (Cyprinid herpesvirus 2) and slightly less similar to IcHV-1 (Ictalurid herpesvirus 1). Therefore, KHV is often referred to as the third type of CyHV virus (CyHV-3). KHV causes a highly infectious skin and gill disease which attacks koi carp and farm carps. Disease can lead to massive fish death, especially at higher water temperatures (20-25°C). Mortality can reach up to 100%.
AmpliTest KHV (Real Time PCR) test is designed to detect DNA sequence specific for KHV in DNA samples obtained from carp tissues. The Real Time PCR reaction is a duplex-type. Viral DNA is detected in the FAM channel. The second channel (HEX) serves for detection of the internal control. Controls included into the test enable control of the correct course of the Real Time PCR reaction.
